Geothermal Heat Pumps for the Environment

Because geothermal heat pumps don't burn fossil fuels, and they don't emit carbon dioxide, they have a tremendous potential to reduce carbon emissions and significantly reduce our impact on global warming. Installing a geothermal system in a typical home reduces fossil fuel emissions by the equivalence of taking two cars off the road or planting one acre of trees.

Clean, renewable geothermal systems make use of the energy of the sun, stored in the ground, to heat and cool your home. This energy is limitless, easy to access, and always available. According to the Geothermal Heat Pump Consortium, currently installed geothermal systems are saving more than 14 million barrels of crude oil every year. And because the only energy needed to run geothermal systems is a small amount of electricity, they reduce the need for coal-powered electric power plants as well.
